17-year-old Somali Christian Beheaded by Islamic Extremists

Militants from the Islamic extremist group al Shabaab beheaded a 17-year-old Somali Christian near Mogadishu last month, a journalist in the Somali capital told Compass Direct News (CDN), reports Michael Ireland, Senior Correspondent, ASSIST News Service.
CDN reports the militants, who have vowed to rid Somalia of Christianity, killed Guled Jama Muktar on Sept. 25 in his home near Deynile, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Mogadishu.
CDN said the Islamic extremist group had been monitoring his family since the Christians arrived in Somalia from Kenya in 2008, said the source in Mogadishu, who requested anonymity.
According to CDN, the Islamic militants, who are fighting the transitional government for control of the country, knew from their observations of the family that they were Christians, the source said. “I personally know this family as Christians who used to have secret Bible meetings in their house,” he said.
CDN explained that, based on talks with the boy’s parents and their neighbors, the source said al Shabaab members arrived at Muktar’s home at 6 a.m., when his parents, whose names are withheld for security reasons, were already at work at their retail space at the Hamarweyne market on the outskirts of Mogadishu.
CDN stated that neighbors informed the parents of the murder, and they hurriedly returned home and buried their son’s body quickly, fearing the militants would kill them as well. They then fled to an unknown destination, the source said.
“When the incident happened, the parents called to tell me that their son had been killed and that they feared for their lives,” the source said. “Since then, I have not heard from them.”

Waqar, thank you for keeping us informed
We will never surrender!
Our prayers are with his parents. They were brave to practise their faith in the dangerous circumstances. May we be brave too when the going gets tough wherever we are.
When Goliath faces you doggedly
To subjugate you
Like he faced Israel;
When Satan faces you
Like Hitler faced Europe
And even the World;
You have to rise
Like David of old;
You have to rise
Like Sir Winston Churchill
of old and declare:

‘The battle is not mine, but God’s
He will fight for me and I will hold my peace.
Yea though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil
because God is with me
His rod and His staff,
They comfort me.
He prepares a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
He anoints my head with oil.
‘Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
all the days of my life.’
God has not given me a spirit of fear
But that of love power and sound mind
I am more than a conqueror through Christ.
‘The righteous are as bold as a lion.’

God has given me
everything pertaining
to life and godliness.
Through my knowledge

I am a partaker of the divine nature.
Angels are in assignment for me.
‘Greater is He that is me
Than he that is in the world.
‘Whoever is born of God,
Overcomes this world.
And this is the victory
That overcomes the world
Even (my) faith
Therefore victory is mine in Jesus name!
When Pharaoh faces you
Like he faced Israel

into the promised land;
When wicked Haman conspires against you
Determined to wipe you and your vision out,
You have to step up the plate
like Moses and use your rod-
your authority in Christ.
call on God like Moses:
‘Show me your glory!’
‘If God be for me,
who can be against me?
Jesus said.’ It is finished!’
‘Behold I give you power
over the power of the enemy;
Power to trample on
Serpents and scorpions.
In the world you will have tribulation.
But be of good cheer
because I have overcome the world.
Behold I am He that was dead
but now I am alive and alive forevermore
and I hold the keys death and hades.’
He did it for me!
Therefore I stand to see my salvation.
